Description

Our -PILAR- tabletop range is made of stoneware. The range’s three available colours can be beautifully combined. Stoneware is made from clay, quartz or minerals such as calcite and is defined as a group of ceramic products. Stoneware is used to produce plates, dishes, cachepots and bowls, cast at very high temperatures (approximately 970°C to 1320° C (1778 F to 2408 F) ) using casting techniques. Due to the higher temperatures during the firing process, stoneware is more stable than clay and less translucent than porcelain. The colours are highly dependent on the firing temperature and time, so each piece can show individual textures and shades. Because stoneware is not waterproof by itself, it is often glazed to achieve this condition. It is stable and durable. This is also the case with our range of stoneware, making it ideal for everyday use. Nevertheless, items made of stoneware may show scuffing. This is not a defect of the product, but a completely natural process, as the glaze was fired at a lower heat than the ceramic underneath. Use and care: Our tableware is dishwasher-safe and can be put in the microwave.
